The Untold Symbolism of the Hero's Journey Arc
Movies are a beloved form of entertainment, and at heart they are storytelling, and those formats reach back into mythology, which is itself often a misinterpretation of the forgotten meaning of symbolism. This analysis comes from Steven B. Halls, M.D., FRCPC, a symbolism researcher who documents at halls.md how symbol layouts describe high-density magnetic flow.
Nearly every blockbuster follows the hero's journey. In the hero story of Heracles, he wrestles the Nemean lion. In Dr. Halls's analysis at halls.md, the lion means an energy outflow, most often an outflow along the horizontal plane of a torus, the forelegs carry a horizontal, or upward, direction label, and its head and nose are usually upward. Forelegs and noses are direction labels in symbolism. Alternatively, the lion can be a side flow symbol flowing upward outside the main torus. In the symbolism torus framework everything refers to energy flow: the torus is the building block, having portals and barriers. The patterns and evidence are shown at halls.md.
Another symbol, the Ankh
The Ankh is an ancient Egyptian symbol recognized worldwide, and it is usually described as the symbol of life. In Egyptian art it is held by deities and kings. The Ankh means more than life (per Dr. Halls). Seen correctly, the Ankh is a flow diagram of life-supporting energy. The loop is a portal and an energy return loop, the crossbar is a dimension barrier, and the Ankh adds a downward-flow meaning: a portal set at the horizontal-plane barrier, with divine energy flowing down into our reality. This explanation can co-exist with the familiar life meaning.
